Abstract：On the basis of discussing the concept of educational economic zone, the significance of classifying educational economic zone, the theoretical foundations, methods and stages of classifying educational economic zone, this paper intends to divide the thirty provinces of our country into four educational economic zones: the Central Government cities, developed zone, medium developing zone and underdeveloped zone. The paper also discusses the relationships among educational economic zones, administrative areas, and the regional distributions; analyzes the gradient difference of various districts on local economic development level and education development level and makes a further analysis on the difference of higher education investment among various districts.
