Abstract:Taking "spiritual education" in the thinking history of the western education as a plot, this thesis systematically discusses the historical development of "spiritual education." This thesis divides the historical development of "spiritual education" into three parts. On tracking down these three periods, this thesis points out that, as a theory field or an education orientation, the development of "spiritual education" is being accompanied by stern culture, which shows that, "spiritual education" is not only a value ideal of education, but also an education practice aiming to the comprehensive development of human beings.
