Abstract:During the Warring States periods, the Chu and Qin State contended fiercest in China. In fact, their deadly fight to each other on military affairs was the competition of ideas and behaviors in every respect of their social life. So partly comparing customs between the Chu and Qin State's social life in this period, we can know the general development of the two states' social life. They had their own characteristics in ideas, behaviors, marriage life and attitude towards women. Their customs in social life directly reflected their value orientation, ideas and behaviors, which played an important role in the development of their society.
