Abstract:Through the investigation, Northern China's villages are different from the differential structure in identity towards norm, especially, in the western village, villagers mingle the rules of personal and public relations, they can seek the private interest through the public relation rules, while they have the possibility to quest public target through rules of personal relations; which remains some functions of traditional villages' patronage network. However, in the following fields, though the new network of patronage can be open, extensive, mass-mobilized, and always be temporary, loose, easily-variable and especially varies with concrete events and interests, its information can be transmitted through personal and public channels, whose shaky distinct boundary allows other people to enter freely. On structure, it is small group-cored, with equal identity, indistinct boundary, without distinctly steady institutionalized structure, all these show that, social relation in western village is different from the typical one, nor the modern public relation is mingled one of these two relations in this mingled relations, private and public events are resolved.
