Abstract:In China, the land contract management right is one of the most important rights for peasants. The Rural Land Contract Law of the People's Republic of China, which began to be implemented in 2003, has provided a significant legal basis both for making the land contract management right a property right and for protecting peasants' interest. However, owing to some imperfections in the country's land system, there is lack of interconnection between laws and regulations relevant to land. Moreover, the Rural Land Contract Law itself has some drawbacks, which hinder the progress of making the land contract management right a real property right of peasants. Therefore, it is necessary to further reform and perfect our country's land system and reinforce peasants' land contract management right to effectively protect the interest of peasants.
