Abstract：This essay explores two important problems.First,it explores the substance of self-consciousness and interactions between self-consciousness and object-consciousness,the role of self-consciousness in the adaptive activity of human being,analyzes and evaluates the theories that disparage the role of self-consciousness;second,in the close connection with the development of self-consciousness,it explains the developmental process of ego,from material ego,social ego to spiritual ego,from empirical ego to pure ego.And in these processes,it especially emphasizes the important role of the interaction and inter-transition of such levels of ego.
