Abstract：The idea of the flesh and the soul being same important and the idea of equality were two basic principles in ancient Greek religion and also two key points which eventually gave birth to the Olympic games.On the contrary,we can neither find the same ideas in the religions of ancient Egypt,Babylon,India,China nor in Buddhism,Christianity,Islam.This may be just the reason why the Olympic games only emerged in ancient Greece.But the games had been suspended for fifteen centuries because of Christianity,and then got reborn when the two ideas became focus again in Martin Luther King's reformation in European history.In this sense,the Olympic games doesn't merely mean sport games but means cultural activities.
