Abstract:Itard,the famous French special educationist in the early nineteenth century,spent five years carrying on a special educational experiment on training a wild boy named Victor.His experiment was divided into several stages with each separately focusing upon feelings,intellect,emotion,and so on.These explorations inaugurated a set of innovative methods for special education,which have since been successfully applied to the practice to instruct the mental retarded and multi handicapped.As the earliest special educational experiment in the history,Itard's attempt and research carries a great impact on and also a significant inspiration to later similar studies.
