Abstract：In modern Wuhan,stevedore's population was multitudinous,and the wharf labor dispute frequently occurred,which had had the enormous influence to Wuhan social economy.By combining the situation of Wuhan wharf labor dispute during 1927-1937 year,this article plans to analyze its characteristic,which was different from the general labor dispute,and inquires how the foremen participated in and operated the wharf labor dispute,then inspects the profound influence on the economic and society of modern Wuhan economic society.The article thought that the contradiction between the feudalism domination of the wharf work power and the free employment principle of Capitalism is the root of the wharf labor dispute in modern Wuhan.
