Abstract:The once-popular magazine of genre fiction,The Legends through Ancient and Modern Times, the Wuxia Volume, integrates the Wuxia fiction writing in the Chinese-speaking world with the cultural concept of “the mainland new Wuxia”,interacting with the rise of martial arts films, online games, animations, online novels and so on.Both the intergration and interaction create the Wuxia type with Chinese characteristics in the cultural industry. This paper describes the establishment of the editorial team and the author team, the construction of the magazine text, the interaction between readers and the magazine, and the operation of the publishing department, the interaction between the editorial department and the competent authority so as to form the symbolic, dynamic, engaging, networking, reflective, signal, national and feminist narrative of the magazine production.Based on this case, the paper introduces the analytical framework of critics such as Theodor W. Adorno and Scott Lash to illustrate that this new cultural industry has a side of overlap and a different side compared with the West. Commercial value and cultural value can be effectively unified through such a fledging structural operation.
