Abstract:In view of the influence of periodic intermittent pulse load on the cycle life of the battery, and to optimize the working conditions of battery, we introduce a solution of battery-ultracapacitor hybrid energy storage system(HESS), it can make full use of high energy density of battery and high power density of ultracapacitor. Select the passive structure of HESS which battery connects with ultracapacitor directly as the object of study, at the same time, improve the passive structure of HESS. Under the MALTAB simulation environment, the single battery, the passive structure of HESS, and the improved passive structure of HESS are chosen to simulation comparative study. Meanwhile, the experiment platform is established for comparative study. Simulation and experiment results indicate that full power compensation from the ultracapacitor on the battery optimizes the discharge process and makes the discharge current become curve more smooth.
