Abstract:In the Euclidean space ?d, wavelets play a key role in digital signal processing and scientific computations as well as data compression. Recently, wavelet theories on the field ?p of p-adic numbers attracted considerable attentions. In this paper, we study the wavelet sets over the p-adic vector space ?, and obtained a sufficient and necessary condition on the wavelet sets over ?, which is given in terms of multiplicative tiles and spectral sets over ?. Our result extends the known results on the Euclidean space ?d to on the non-archimedean space ?.
