Safety evaluation and analysis of the Shaikou Reservoir in Huaihua city, Hunan province

Abstract:The Shaikou Reservoir in Hunan province was reinforced from 2014 to 2019, in view of the main problems existing in the operation of the reservoir and the construction effect of the reinforcement. In this paper, the finite difference calculation software FLAC3D and theoretical analysis are used to evaluate the safety of the dam of the Shaikou Reservoir. The results show that under different working conditions, the seepage safety, structural safety andother parts of safety of the dam of the Shaikou Reservoir after the reinforcement meet the requirements of the code. However, the operation management needs to be further standardized, and the final recommendation is approved as a Second-Class dam.
