Abstract:A unified expansion theory that can be simultaneously applied to bothlarge and small correlation times is introduced briefly at first, and then it is appliedto calculate the stationary intensity probability of colored-gain-noise model for dyelasers. We compare the results of the unified expansion theory with the predictionsof the best Fokker-Planck equation and the unified colored-noise approximation forthe stationary intensity probability of a colored-gain-noise model and find that theresults of the unified expansion theory agree better with simulation and experimentresults than the results of the best Fokker-Planck equation and the unified colorednbise approximation.
