Abstract：The purpose of this paper is to introduce the theory and recent results on chemostat models, especially results obtained in the last decade. Different types of equations including ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations and delay differential equations have been used to model chemostat. Topics cover stability of solutions, persistence of systems, existence of periodic solutions, competition exclusion principle, bifurcation, etc.
