Abstract：This paper analyzes that there are some linitation in calibrating parameters of some nonlinear geographical models and points out simulated annealing algorithm(SA) is a new algorithm,which has many advantages:global optima,robustness,high efficient,and so on. This paper makes an attempt to apply simulated annealing algorithm to find parameter estimates in nonlinear S- grow models.The result of the experience shows that SA is an effective algorithm for such problem and also a promising method for other geographical optimizing problems.
