Abstract:A heterometal tetranuclear complex [Gd2(pydc)6Ca2(H2O)10]·2Him·6H2O (1, H2pydc=pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, Him+=protonated imidazole) was synthesized by hydrothermal reaction of pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid with CaCl2 and Gd(NO3)3·6H2O at 120 ℃ for 72 h. The structure of the was characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, thermal stability analysis and room temperature solid-state fluorescence spectroscopy. The results show that the complex crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P, and the cell parameters as follow: a=1.23722(10) nm, b=1.24751(10) nm, c=2.24917(19) nm, α=101.251(2)°, β=103.834(2)°, γ=96.391(2)°; V=3.2602(5) nm3,Z=2. The complex exhibits bright-blue fluorescence.
