Abstract:Urban flood disaster often causes catastrophic loss of life and property. It is very important to study urban flood disaster for flood prevention and control. Previous studies mostly focused on flood disaster risk or loss from a certain aspect, and the study area was mainly concentrated in the southern cities with more rainfall in China. In recent years, extreme rainstorm events occurred frequently in the cities with less rainfall in the north, but there are still few studies on the cities in the north. In this paper, the risk analysis method of urban flood disaster and the disaster loss assessment model are firstly constructed from the perspective of the whole link of flood disaster. Then, taking the extreme rainstorm flood disaster in July 2021 in Zhengzhou City in northern China as an example, the temporal and spatial distribution of flood disaster risk is qualitatively analyzed and the economic loss caused by flood disaster is quantitatively assessed. The flood disaster in Zhengzhou City is systematically analyzed. The results show that the flood disaster risk analysis method and loss assessment were able to accurately predict the occurrence area of flood disaster and estimate the loss of flood disaster. Flood disaster high risk area and high economic loss area coincide.
