Abstract：Field politics is a new subdiscipline of political science based on fieldwork. A deeper understanding of the field will help advance the study of field politics. The term “field” in political science has unique connotations， the exploration of which can pave the way for explaining and interpreting the political practice， developing and advancing studies of political science in China. Fields originate from the continuation of history， and are hidden in the superposition and interaction of relationships. Most valuable fields are in places where problems are concentrated or contradictions are prominent. The value of fields to political science lies in the awareness of the problem based on the investigation， the research concern of the field atmosphere， the conceptual construction of the field labels， the theoretical innovation rooted in fields， and the training model that can be used for reference. These values support the prosperity and development of field politics. The construction of field politics is not accidental. The research and analysis of the construction of field politics has reference significance and reference value for the construction of other emerging sub-disciplines and the development of Chinese political science.
