Abstract:Words with reversed morphemes are a common linguistic phenomenon in Chinese language, yet they hold special significance for Lu Xun. His extensive use of such words not only aimed at achieving linguistic defamiliarization but also reflected his contrarian thinking, playful mindset, and lexical preferences. The words with reversed morphemes in Lu Xun's works can be categorized into three types: the first type consists of the most prevalent reversed words still in active use to this day; the second type is rarely seen but embodies Lu Xun's personal style; the third type comprises reversed words within Lu Xun's ideologically charged vocabulary, which best encapsulates the significance and value of Lu Xun's use of words with reversed morphemes.
