Abstract The contest in the process of villagers' voting is regarded as an important factor in political democratization. Based on the case study of Zhejiang Province,this essay, through the analysis of contest, contest manners and causes, illustrates villagers' voting is more practical and realistic than the city's voting . And, the paper contends that the rural democratization is still in its infancy.
