| On the Implying Function of Sound-rhyme in Modern Chinese Poetry |

Abstract Poem has the obvious modality style in language art and melodiousness is one of the most important modality. Basing on texts, this paper analyzes the quality of the sound rhyme elements and its functions: choosing the tone which is suggestible and symbolic to express the sonata from one's heart; showing one's emotion by harmonizing sound with feeling; using repeating a rhyme to amplify the implying function of sound music.
