Abstract In the first half of the 20th century, the development of spiritual civilization lost its balance in China in which the vigorous situation of literature and the failure of religion were a typical case. Under these circumstances, a lot of responsibilities, such as: to purify feelings, to propagate goodwill and to punish evil etc, had to be assumed by the Chinese modern litrature who has evolved unique spiritual tradition under these circumstances.
