| The Rise and Fall of Patriarchal Clan System and Its Influence on Chinese Society |

Abstract The patriarchal clan system disintegrated as early as the late Western Zhou Dynasty, but its influence lasts over 2000 years. This thesis makes a research on this question and finds that the remaining influence of this system has permeated every field and level of Chinese society and has accumulated into a kind of social tradition and cultural spirit, which dominated the Chinese society, adjusted the social relationship, regulated the human relations ethics and further led the Chinese culture to an ethics type.
