Abstract One of the urgent problems that China is facing is how to develop commerce chamber and make full use of their function and role, so that they can meet the demands of the increase of market economy and the needs of the entry into the World Trade Organization. There are mainly four problems remaining to be resolved: to make clear the role of commerce chamber and trade association and to transfer power to a lower lever; to harmonize the relationship between commerce chamber, trade association and government sections; to intensify the standardization of the establishment and management of commerce chamber and trade association; to draw up law of commerce chamber and regulations of trade association which conform to the conditions of China.
