Abstract On the view of culture, Chen Yin-ke states the features of Shi-zu's culture kindred and their relationship with the local culture and also it states the characteristics of Shangdong's culture kindred under the civil service examinations in Tang Dynasty. What Chen Yin-ke studies affirms the contributions of culture kindred to Chinese culture development, especially its leading function in the culture integration and construction of state system at the age of mediaeval times. In a word, what Chen Yin-ke investigates in Shi-zu's culture kindred deals with the development of Chinese culture and society, which has great significance in the field of deep study on Chinese culture and society, rather than the study of mediaeval times, and it pioneers a new research field.
