| The Symbolic Base of the Appearance of Chinese Characters |

Abstract Studies of Chinese characters mean a lot to the occurrence of human civilization as well as to the genuine understanding of writing symbols. The first and most important is to make clear the symbolic base of the appearance of Chinese characters. The primitive visual symbols include object symbols, rope-tying symbols, "Bagua" symbols, primitive pictures and primitive statues. In the course of its development, characters have taken in primitive pictures and primitive marks which contains some "Bagua" symbols. Gradually marking symbols have overwhelmed picture symbols.
