| On Hegel''''s Misinterpretations of Oriental Art |

Abstract Oriental Art is the object of study in Hegel's Aesthetics when he talks about symbolic art in his Aesthetics . However, he obviously misinterprets Oriental Art in many ways. This paper studies the one sidedness of Hegel's idea, his refusal of the enigmatical and mysterious characteristics of Oriental Art, and the pantheist misinterpretation of Oriental Art. Causes of such misinterpretation are also investigated.
