Abstract As is discerned in the Mingshi (Rediscovery of Potery)section of Wenxin diaolong (Literary Mind and Carved Dragon),its key formulation provided within is concerned with the historical evolution and development of poetry as a whole. It offers certain insights and notions that are subtly and pro-foundly exposing or revealing some most fundamental features of poetic creation. This paper attempts to look into Liu Xie's poetics with focuses on such conceptions as "zhezhong" (correct inclusiveness) ,"qiu-tong" (holistic vision),and ziran weimei(naturalness as beauty),etc. All this is to be conducted in view of stylistic change, artistic making and poetic paradigm.
