Abstract The development of western philosophy has gone through three moments successively: Universe Ontology; Reason Ontology; Anthropology Ontology. The western aesthetics and tragedy theory have gone along the same evolvement too. The development course of western philosophy and aesthetics prove that we can clarify radically the inherence essence and aesthetic character of tragedy only on the basis of practice aesthetics that Marx and Engels have inaugurated.
