| Calling for Subjective:Zhu Guang-qian and Practical Aesthetics |

Abstract In the discussion of aesthetics between 1950s and 1960s, Zhu Guang qian tried hard to maintain the position of the subjective by distinguishing "objects" with "the image of objects", and by stressing the consistency of material production and arts production, which shares much in common with the modern western aesthetics.
