Abstract Germany's opposing the war of America against Iraq publicly is a turning point in the Germany's policy to America. It makes the traditional relations of the two countries cool down. All there result in the contradiction between two countries' international strategy, interests and nations' interests, and as well as Schroeder's sense of nationalism and great power. The shawdow over the German-American relations will not elimilate immediatelly. Their relations will be in a lukewarm situation and the independence of Germany's policy to America will be stengthened which goes with the current of the times .
