Abstract Without the support of perfect and harmonious society, any move to rectify the relationships among state? market and society, will achieve little. Villagers' self-governance are the fundamental field to establish the harmonious society, which will continue to be in the lead. Though it is encountered with many reproaches, it is still growing up?developing and improving with indomitable vitality. What the theorists and officials should do now is to think how to advance villagers' self-governance work into depth, not to judge whether it is right or wrong.
