Abstract Li Xian-nian was the leading representative figure of Chinese Communist Party which formed a cooperative partnership with the Kuomintang local military-political authority in Hubei and Henan Border Region.He was a glorious model in insisting the independence principle of the United Front,making efforts in developing the people's anti-Japanese military force in all directions and building and developing the anti-Japanese base.He was an outstanding leader who correctly dealt with the relations between the fights of anti-Japanese and anti-diehards,stuck to the stance of self-defence and flexibly fought against the diehards.He stuck to the principle of closely relying on the workers and peasants all the time and uniting the people of various political levels to the maximum extent so as to make an important contribution to the consolidation,enlargement and development of the anti-Japanese United Front of all nations in the Hubei and Henan Border Region.
