Abstract Hu Shi's theory of literature historical evolution represents one of the most influential literature historical view in the 20th century.The viewpoints cannot accurately describe the history of Chinese literature,such as,spoken Chinese is the evolution of classical Chinese;the Chinese literature history is the transformation history of language in literature;the development of language shows the evolution of minds;the development of literature and the development of human nature is synchronous,etc.As a matter of fact,the theory of evolution,being brought into social sciences to generalize the development of society,is not scientific,and using the theory as a basic one to clear out the clues for Chinese literature development and moving regulation is also not scientific.We must try to seek another way to reveal the regulation of Chinese literature development.
