Abstract From the angle of western origin criticism and thematics,this essay researches how the Chinese ancient legend of Nukua's mending sky was absorbed by the styles of later literature.The images in the legend have not only become the symbolic embodiment of mending sky in many poetms and articles,but also have changed as the framework of several narrative literature works.The images have been reshaped as many kinds of scenes in the colorful gallery of literature and were gradually regarded as the great gallant spirit of conquering the nature of Chinese people.
