Abstract The global background has manifested the special intention and significance in our historical novels.By dint of the firm position in approving the national culture and the skilled traditional pattern,the historical novels have made news recently.But the embarrassed condition has also turned up: because of depending on the tradition too much,they have lacked the rational criticism on tradition and creative ability,which has caused a spatial difference between the historical novels and the world-class works.The writers have a long way to go.
