Abstract Different from the western mode of thinking "one divided into two",Confucian thought indicates a kind of traditional Chinese way "one divided into three".With a poetic attribute that registers as a high recognition of poetry,Confucian thought values the "Xiang"(image) between the Dao(spiritual factor) and Qi(physical factor). This paper will discuss both the way of thinking "one divided into three" and the Confucian recognition of "shi jiao"(education by poetry),and analyze the relations between "Xiang",poetic attribute and the recognition of "education by poetry" in Confucian thought.Besides,it will also analyze the great influence of the very relations on the aesthetic standard and principles of deciphering in Confucian context.
