Abstract The research in the field of ancient Chinese literature started by scholars in the field of ancient Chinese literature.While scholars in the field of lierature and art in recent thirty years have made more contributions to the research of ancient Chinese literature.They,by expounding ancient Chinese literature theory,try to reveal the general rules of literature and art in order to construct the theoretic system of Chinese modern lierature.In the research of ancient literature theory,scholars of literature and art should avoid breaking away from the ancient written articles and context and avoid likening western literature theories.The key to modern transformation of ancient literature theory should take explaining and solving problems in the course of the development of literature as its aim.
