| An Analysis on the Maintenance Characteristics of University Invented Patents with Different Patent Owners |

Abstract University invented patents may have different patent owners,and they all have to be maintained to be effective patent rights.This paper,based on a random sample of all university invented patents in the past 21 years,examines the maintenance characteristics of patents of different owners.Practical and policy implications of the findings are also discussed in the paper.
