| The Meaning of “Rhythm of Poem” in Literary History |

Abstract The book The Rhythm of Poem which is not only a classical comment made by Wen Yiduo discussing the art of new poem，but also an important document on the style of poem in modern literary stylistics. The Rhythm of Poem， along with Wen Yiduo's other documents on new poem，rethinks the creation of new poem since the May 4th Movement， and puts forward a rhythm of new poem different from the styles of the traditional and new poem， giving a clear definition of the style of poem. In a sense， the rhythm of poem is not only a regulation of the creation of new poem， but also the aesthetic requirements on the character of poem， coming forward a new aesthetic principle for new poem and reconstructing a new literary system， at the same time，making an art exploration which intends to reconstruct the national spirit by means of the creation and regulation of literary form.
