Abstract Chinese literature in the 20th century is full of contradictory movements and tension structures of various forms， the complex interaction between the positive and negative effects of literary theory and creation is one of the specific manifestations.The two-way relationship between “advance and lag” influences and restricts the healthy and reasonable growth of creation and theoretical criticism，the intermittent ups and downs of “affinity and alienation” forms the balanced and imbalanced development tendency of literary trend，and the situation of “aphasia， gaffe and anomie” of literary theory is the far-reaching and intensifying serious symptom of literature in this period，which also deeply involves in the evolution of literature since 1990s，and vividly illustrates the complex historical appearance of “progress and retrogression” of literary theory and creation.
