| Politics of Image: The Knowledge Genealogy and Theoretical Logic of Political Economy of Film |

Abstract There is politics of image behind the film. The political economy of film focuses on the mutual construction of political economy power behind the film text and industry, reflecting clear knowledge genealogy, distinctive academic inheritance and unique theoretical logic. The political economy of film explores the nature and function of film from the political, economic, cultural and technological dimensions, reveals economic constraints and power relations behind the film industry, clarifies the close relationship between the film industry and capital, illuminates the political economy driving force for American film to expand overseas, as well as film dependency in world film market and its farreaching influence, that provides alternative theoretical insights for our understanding film and film industry in capitalist system, which deserves us to alert and deliberate.
