Abstract The concept of “Tianxia” derived from “Tian” is the organic unity of the three meanings of geography, psychology and social system. It is a transcendental value of integrity as the knowledge framework of ancient Chinese concept of thought. “Tianxia” has both cultural transcendence dimension and political reality dimension,and thus evolves into Tianxia Doctrine as an ideology and formes a trinity structure. Tianxia Doctrine is presented in an aesthetic way in the landscape paintings of the Song dynasty.The compositional structure with the “Three Farness” as its core is the presentation form of Tianxia Doctrine in the landscape paintings. The aesthetic image layout which reflects the structure of political ethics,is the structural system of Tianxia Doctrine presented in the landscape paintings. “Tianxia” is presented in the relationship between vacuity and reality in the landscape paintings in an aesthetic way,and cloud, water and negative space are commonly art methods used.
