| On the Good Life of People |

Abstract The good life of people represents the highest value as the goal of Chinese Communist Party， but it is a concept with ambiguity and controversy.This paper argues that there are actually two explanations about people's good life： good life of humankind and good life of individuals. The former is based on the “genus” characteristics of human beings， and its core is sensual happiness and rational virtue. The latter is based on the “individual” characteristics of human beings， and its core is the realization of the generalized human preferences.Only by integrating good life of humankind and good life of individuals， and appropriately handling the relationship between them， can we fully understand the good life of people and propose more targeted measures for the realization of a better life.
