Abstract The disciplinary system of political science is not yet fully developed into maturity in China. The remarkable sign is that a specialized system of methodology has not been formed, much less prosperous academic schools. The political science of fieldwork is one of the few burgeoning academic schools in the Chinese academia of political science, which exhibits a promising prospect. The theoretical and methodological propositions of the political science of fieldwork conform to the requirements of the times, keep in line with the development trend of current social science theories and methods, and are of great significance to the contemporary academic development and disciplinary construction of the political science in China.
