Abstract:The paper studies the effects of ethyl methane sulphonats (EMS) on the amylase and the peroxidase in the young panicles of rice (Oryza sativa L.)on the first days of culture in vitro. The investigation shows that lower concentration of EMS increased amylase activity and the higher concentration of EMS inhibited the amylase activity in the young panicle somatic cells in vitro. The frequency of callus induction and green plantlets of rice young panicles in vitro is related to the amylase activity in the panicle somatic cells. The changes of the physiological processes of the cultured cells markedly influence intiation of dedifferentiation of the young panicle somatic cells, so that the rate of the young panicle callus changes. In addition, the experimental results show that the dedifferentiation and redifferentiation prooesses of rice young panicle cells are influenced in ultro-high or ultro-low peroxidase activity in the cells.
