Abstract：130 species birds were recorded in the investigation of the Honghu wet-land during 1996-1997,belonging to 16 orders, 40 families. Compared with recordof 1981-1982, birds in honghu witland reduced 2 families, 37 species and firstrecorded 7 species. Most of the birds are winter migrant (winter migrant 36 %,sum-mer migrant 26%, resident 26% travelling bird 12% ), the catch of hunting waterbirds is reduced gradually in winter and spring, the catch of Anas is reduced to10%. Cbot (Fulica atra ) increased to 90%. 4 species in the first-ranked categooyand 12 species in the second-ranked catagory under the natural preservation havebeen found.
