Abstract：This paper discusses the object, characteristics, intention of land science. It points out that land (system) is the object of land science and this science is of a comprehensive one of nature and society. It explains that the study of land science must be based on the double property of land. It analyzes the intention of land from four aspects and expounds the relation between land science object and subject characteristics.
