Abstract： Phytosociological studies on Fagus lucida forests were carried out in Nanshan and Badagongshan of middle subtropical zones, two communities were recognized, based on phytosociological data from 20 sites: Yushania bashersutas-Fagus lucida community and Sinarundinaria nitida-Fagus lucida community. The species composition, structure of two communities were compared. The growth and regeneration of Fagus lucida were analyzed. It is significant to make a conservation and restoration of Fagus lucida forests.
